Kinderart-crayons

Image
Description: First we learned about the artist Paul Klee who was known as the artist who created Castle and the Sun. We made a line up top that was 2 inches down and cut the paper to make the shapes we needed. We made four shapes and used those shapes and other shapes to make a castle. We drew a sun also. Coloring in the castle we had to use either dark or light colors and then the background would be the opposite. We used crayons to color in.  Extension: In social studies having the students use this to make a famous building or to build a home they would want. The steps would be repeated but it would be done in the way they want it.

Clay Project

Description- First she shared various ways and techniques for us to learn how to use clay. We formed balls, we practiced kneading and slapping our clay on the table. We rolled it out with two wooden pieces. we used a circular lid to make a circle shape. We used water to make the edges smooth. We learned the adding and subtracting method. For adding you could repeat steps to make a shape. I used more clay to make mountains. Subtracting I used words like outdoors, hiking.  Extension- This would be a cool idea to make animal fossils in social studies. Students could pick an animal they like and write facts on a paper then present it.
