Hidden Safari Art Project

Description: This project started off learning about Henry Rousseau. He did a lot of jungle and animal artwork. For this project, we created red glasses that were going to help us see our animal. We picked our safari animal and had to draw it with a blue colored pencil with the upside down technique. After that we were told to draw shapes with warm colors. This will help block the blue (cool colors) unless you have those red glasses. After I was done drawing the shapes, I put on the glasses to see my animal which was an elephant. After we wrote three facts about our animals.

Extension Activity:

This could be used for math. Having a problem- write it out in the blue and then the students will have to solve the problem. Could be simple adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.
